Sunday afternoon of Folklife, Jennifer Snarski led a group of Portland dancers in ceili dances. Maldon danced a solo reel in the sean nos style, and then led a group from Portland in the Innisheer Half Set. An international group of set dancers danced the Ballyvourney Jig Set, as dancers from Vancouver, Canada joined the Portland dancers. Dale Russ provided impeccable accompaniment.
Thursday evening, June 8, Dixie organized a Rose Festival performance featuring her Cape Breton troupe. She invited PCS ceili dancers--once more led by Jennifer, and set dancers led by Rick Russell to also perform.
On May 25, Maldon and Jennifer led performances at the Lents Boys and Girls Club International Fair. Johnny "Box" Connelly provided accompaniment.

Dale Russ has appeared on many recordings including Boston College Fiddle
Festival (Green Linnet), The Suffering Gaels (Foxglove Records) and Dale Russ
(Foxglove Records). Finn McGinty is from Coole, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. Finn
is a master on DADGAD guitar. Both Dale and Finn have played in Japan,
Ireland, and the United States. Judy Russell recently wrote in a posting to
the "PDXIrishDanceEvents" list: "April's ceili
with The Suffering Gaels was wonderful! If you are intersted in what Dale
is up to, here is some info: Dale Russ performs with "Jody's Heaven" and "The
Suffering Gaels". According to Dale, "Finn and I are finishing another CD
with Hanz Araki [formerly of The Paperboys]. The trio (and CD) is called
"Setanta". It should be out around July 1st. Like " North Amerikay," it's a
mix of songs and dance tunes. The Suffering Gaels will be recording in
October, for release in Jan or Feb '01. At least that's the plan.... "
